    • reduced transport and handling cost

United Pepper has worked on a number of possibilities to reduce the transport cost on a number of items in its portfolio. Certainly additional cost of transport and handling was prohibitive for products like Lili 1.3 junior and the newly announced products Cube and Lili 2.0.

We are proud to announce that the company is now able to charge handling costs that are a fraction of the previous tariffs for sales on the website. Where the previous charges for transport and handling were 12 Euro per item, from March 1st onwards these charges are 3 Euro for Lili 1.3 - junior, Cube and Lili 2.0.

Customers that have placed orders and that are waiting for their products to be shipped in March will be reimbursed for the difference in the shipping and handling cost. These customers will be contacted during the month of March.

United Pepper still advises customers to get in touch with the company directly for bulk orders.

    • new website

United Pepper launches a new website in line with the transition the company has undergone with regards to product portfolio, go-to-market strategy, partner engagement and customer focus.

As the new company started its first fiscal year in october 2009, a number of strategic decisions have been taken as to the market approach and the product portfolio. Specifically with regards to the go-to-market strategy United Pepper have made a revision of its customer potential.

In addition to the distribution to the consumer market by means of the traditional sales channels like Fnac, Mediamarkt and other comparable players, United Pepper seeks to diversify into corporate/administration partnerships, helping these players to reinforce their Corporate Social Responsibility message and their commitment to social engagement and sustainable development.

The new website reflects these changes and should be more informative in general with regards to news, press, company background and customer ease of access and satisfaction in general.

    • extensions to the portfolio

Initially an increase of choices in colors of the popular Lili was announced. However, market demand and customer feedback have made United Pepper decide to change that policy and extend into new products altogether.

Adding additional choices of color to the popular Lili Webcam seemed like a very good idea and a logical extension. However, customer feedback and pre-order sales resulted in the decision to extend the product portfolio from a different perspective. Therefore Lili 2.0 will be available in green, the color that was by far the most popular color in the previous 1.3 version.

Additional products include Cube, a design Webcam made from FSC Walnut wood and available in natural wood or glossy black finish.

Further more, we are proud to present the United Pepper home tablet. The United Pepper home tablet is a state of the art 10 inch thin client intended for both consumers and professional users.

In your average household there is a new but growing requirement for an easy to use no nonsense touch screen that will allow you to engage in couch computing. The fourth screen, after the TV, PC and mobile, responds to the need of a growing requirement for always on, always connected computing without frills. Low power consumption, rapid boot, no need for energy hungry plastic extrusion for producing a keyboard, and environmentally friendly new composite materials in the future positions this product right into United Pepper’s values: Design, Green, Ethics & Fair Trade.

The home tablet is a hardware platform that supports different operating systems, including Microsoft Windows 7 and Linux. The standard version offers WiFi hardware connectivity. Optionally, 3G connectivity can be ordered. The CPU is an Intel ATOM N270, specifically designed for tablet PCs and running at 1,6GHz. The product comes standard with a 160G SATA harddisk, but can be fitted with Solid State memory, extending even further the battery uptime and removing the need for fan cooling. Professionals can easily port their application(s) onto the platform using it as a dedicated single purpose tool, or making the software reside as a vertical application alongside general purpose applications. The onboard camera facilitates screen to screen communication.

Refer to our Product Specs for extended information on this new exciting product or contact us on info@unitedpepper.org.
